Bob Schneider

Born in Berlin, Germany.

After graduating from high school, he was trained as a projectionist and worked in Berlin’s Arthouse cinemas.

As a founding member of the queer film group Teufelsberg Filmproduktion Berlin, he created some classics of Westberlin´s New Wave Independentfilms

He studied dramaturgy and editing at the University for film in Potsdam-Babelsberg and graduated in 2001 as a Master in Filmediting.

As a freelance filmeditor he edited mostly documentaries for Norddeutscher Rundfunk, Westdeutscher Rundfunk, 3sat, Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg and Arte. The documentary film about the history of theater in the GDR  „Die Bühnenrepublik – Theater in der DDR“ won the Grimme Prize for best documentary in 2004.

Since 1992 he is working as a comedian and cabaret artist on stage and in films. He is also the author of several comedy scripts and books. Therefore visit his personal website  www.bobschneider.de and the site of his main stage character : www.futschiqueen.de

From 2014 to the present day he is studiying calligraphy and ink painting with zen master and master of Korean Callipraphy Byong Oh Sunim at the Korean cultural center in Berlin. In 2017 he became member of the Korea Calligraph Association.

His artworks were shown in several group exhibitions in Korea and Germany and he received an award as a participant of World Calligraphy Biennale in Jeoallabuk/Republic of Korea 2017 and in 2021.
